Facebook Happy To Take Money For Scam Ads
BBC Dragons Used To Promote Bitcoin Scam
Recently, Facebook has made it clear that it won’t tolerate
the advertising of scams on it’s social network. However, the reality seems to
be somewhat different. I and many others seem to be getting more scam ads than
ever. Nearly all the ads that appear on my timeline are promoting bitcoin
trading platforms that promise to turn your initial investment of $250.00 into
millions in months. Nearly all the ads feature stars from the BBC’S Dragon’s
Den. Peter Jones is the most heavily featured. The ads claim that their Bitcoin
trading platform secured the biggest investment in Dragon’s Den history. A lot
of the ads feature the brothers from MoBro, who were successful in getting
investment from the Dragons, although their business sells beard oils, not
Bitcoin trading platforms.
I am getting at least twenty of these fake news scam ads on
my timeline a day yet when I tried to share posts from my business Facebook
with family and friends they removed my posts and investigated me for spam! The
difference is, I guess, I wasn’t paying for my posts. It looks to me that as
long as you’re paying Facebook then they are not worried about fake news and
scams. I wonder what the BBC make of stars from one of their biggest shows
being used in these scams?
